Proactive Messages
Most support waits for the question. This starts the conversation.
What it is
A proactive rule watches where a visitor is — URL contains, or a regex — and, if you identify users, who they are, then opens with a message you wrote. It arrives as a badge and a single pulse on the launcher, not a popup that takes over the page; a click opens straight into the conversation.
Replies land in your normal inbox like any other thread, and per-contact cooldowns stop a rule from ever nagging the same person twice in a row.
How you’d use it
SaaS team
On the pricing page: “Comparing plans? Tell us your team size and we’ll point you at the right one.” The visitors who bite are your highest-intent leads of the day — and they arrive pre-qualified by the page they were on.
D2C brand
On the shipping-policy page: “Ordering somewhere unusual? Ask — we answer in minutes.” The person reading that page is one doubt away from a purchase; a human answer removes it.
Course creator
On the cohort sales page during enrollment week: “Enrollment closes Friday — ask me anything about the course.” Questions convert lurkers; silence doesn’t.
Product-led team
Identify your users and target by attribute: trial users on the docs get “Stuck on setup? A human wrote these docs — ask them,” while paying customers browse in peace.
Get more out of it
Target the page where doubt lives
Pricing, shipping policy, refund policy, checkout FAQ — one specific question aimed at that page’s hesitation outperforms a generic “Need help?” on every page.
Write like a person, not a banner
The message opens a real thread with your real team. “What’s blocking you from starting?” gets replies; “Welcome to our website!” gets ignored.
Set cooldowns generously
Seventy-two hours or more per contact. A nudge that fires on every visit trains people to ignore the launcher — which costs you the support channel too.
Separate the surfaces
Mark sales-page rules as conversion and help-page rules as support. Reports splits new conversations by surface, so you can see whether the conversion play is actually paying.
A/B it by hand, weekly
Run one message for a week, note the reply count in Reports, then try a sharper one. Rules take seconds to edit — treat the copy as a living thing.
Start the conversations worth having.
Your workspace takes about a minute to create — no sales call, no credit card.
